Westfield’s 19-hit onslaught led by Bestine’s 100th hit | News, Sports, Jobs

Westfield’s Tanleigh Bestine reached a major milestone in her softball career as she picked up her 100th hit during the Wolverines’ dominant 18-3 victory over Panama in the CCAA Division 2 West game. Bestine started the game with a single to right field and went on to finish 2 for 3 with a triple, an RBI, and three runs scored.

The Wolverines’ offense was firing on all cylinders, recording a total of 19 hits in the game. Sydney Hotchkiss stood out with a 4 for 5 performance, including a double and four RBIs. Drew Ernewein, Keara Kincaid, and Brynn Ernewein all contributed with multiple doubles, runs scored, and RBIs. Eva Gnadzinski also had a strong showing, going 4 for 5 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored.

On the defensive side, Gnadzinski pitched five solid innings, allowing just three hits while striking out two and walking one. Kaitlyn Horton and Corinne Hovey managed to get hits for the Panthers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Westfield’s offensive onslaught.

In other softball action, Frewsburg defeated Jamestown 15-2, Cassadaga Valley outlasted Brocton 12-9, and Silver Creek blanked Pine Valley 12-0. These games showcased the talent and determination of the players as they battled it out on the field.
