What accusations have been made against P Diddy?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Sean “Diddy” Combs, a rapper and music mogul, is facing multiple civil lawsuits accusing him of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape. Combs, formerly known as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, has denied all allegations against him. Federal agents with US Homeland Security raided two of his houses in Los Angeles and Miami on 25 March as he faces a string of accusations.

The lawsuits against Combs date back to the 1990s when he founded his record label, Bad Boy Records. One of the accusers, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed a lawsuit in 2023 alleging that she was trafficked, raped, and beaten by Combs over a span of 10 years. Surveillance footage from 2016 appeared to corroborate parts of her complaint.

In a more recent lawsuit filed in February 2024, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones accused Combs of subjecting him to unwanted advances and forcing him to engage in relations with sex workers. The lawsuit also alleges that Combs hosted “sex-trafficking parties” with underage women and illegal drugs.

Combs has vehemently denied all accusations and vowed to fight for his name and family. His attorneys have called the lawsuits baseless and money grabs. Despite the allegations, Combs has not been formally charged or accused by federal prosecutors of any crime.

The slew of lawsuits against Combs comes amid a wave of similar allegations brought forward by survivors under the New York Adult Survivors Act, which provided a one-year window for adult victims of sexual assault to come forward with civil claims regardless of the statute of limitations.
