The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics has been recognized as one of the top 10 dental schools in the country by the U.S. Career Institute. The rankings, which evaluate various metrics such as academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact, placed the University of Iowa’s dental school at ninth in the nation.

Established 140 years ago, the College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa is one of the oldest dental schools in the United States. Offering degrees such as Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), the college emphasizes hands-on clinical training and is known for its leadership in dental research.

University of Iowa Dean of the College of Dentistry, Clark Stanford, expressed pride in the recognition, stating, “Our students, faculty, and staff prioritize educating the next generation of dentists, providing high-quality, patient-centered care, researching new breakthroughs in dentistry, and expanding oral health care access to all Iowans.”

The top spot in the rankings was claimed by the University of Michigan, with the University of California, San Francisco and Harvard University following closely behind. The University of Iowa tied with Tufts University and The Ohio State University for ninth place, showcasing the excellence of dental education at the institution.

With over 60 dental schools in the U.S., the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry stands out for its long-standing history, commitment to practical training, and dedication to advancing oral health care.
