Reading Time: < 1 minute

Microsoft is making waves in the world of artificial intelligence, with plans to integrate an AI chatbot into its popular gaming console, Xbox. The company’s commitment to leveraging emerging technologies is evident in its recent unveiling of AI-driven products, such as Bing AI and AI-powered laptops.

According to reports from The Verge, Microsoft is set to revolutionize Xbox customer support with the introduction of the Xbox Support Virtual Agent. This AI-powered chatbot, equipped with natural language processing capabilities, aims to provide users with prompt and efficient responses to their inquiries.

Haiyan Zhang, the general manager of Gaming AI at Xbox, confirmed the existence of the chatbot, describing it as an “embodied AI character” that will animate during user interactions. The chatbot will have access to Microsoft’s extensive support documentation for the Xbox network and ecosystem, ensuring accurate responses to a variety of queries.

The Xbox Support Virtual Agent is expected to address a range of customer support needs, including troubleshooting hardware issues and assisting with subscription management. It may even facilitate game refunds directly through Microsoft’s support website.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is continuing to push the boundaries of AI technology, with the establishment of a dedicated AI division led by Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Google DeepMind. Suleyman’s appointment signals the company’s commitment to advancing AI technology and underscores its position at the forefront of the AI revolution. Stay tuned for further updates on Microsoft’s AI initiatives and the rollout of the Xbox AI chatbot.
