Missionary Couple and Local Director Fatally Shot by Gang Members in Haiti
Tragedy struck in Haiti as a local director of a mission group and a missionary couple from the U.S. were attacked and fatally shot by gang members. The incident occurred in the community of Lizon in northern Port-au-Prince, leaving three lives lost in the wake of escalating gang violence in the capital city.
Jude Montis, the local director of Missions in Haiti Inc., and Davy and Natalie Lloyd, a young married couple from the U.S., were targeted after leaving a youth group activity at a church. The missionary work focused on helping the children of Haiti, with a goal to make a difference in their lives through the Gospel of Christ.
The Lloyd family, who started the organization in 2000, dedicated their lives to serving the children of Haiti, providing housing, education, and hope for a better future. Davy Lloyd and Natalie Lloyd, who recently got married, wasted no time in moving to Haiti to continue their humanitarian work.
The attack, which involved multiple armed gunmen in trucks, left the missionary couple and Montis fleeing to a house connected to the mission for cover. Despite their efforts to seek refuge, the gang members ruthlessly shot up the house, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
The grieving families, including Montis’ two young children and the Lloyd family, are left shattered by the senseless violence. As they mourn the loss of their loved ones, they are calling for prayers and strength to cope with the devastating loss.
The international community is shocked and saddened by the brutal attack on those who dedicated their lives to helping others in need. As authorities work to address the escalating gang violence in Haiti, the memory of those lost in this tragic incident will forever be remembered.
