A new study has revealed that your choice of morning beverage can say a lot about your personality and lifestyle. In a poll of 2,000 US adults, split between coffee and matcha drinkers, interesting differences and similarities were observed based on their preferred a.m. drink.

Matcha drinkers were found to be early risers, with 54% preferring to wake up early. They also tend to enjoy outdoor activities, describe themselves as adventurous, and are more likely to be ambiverts. On the other hand, coffee drinkers were more likely to sleep in later, prefer indoor activities like watching movies, and lean towards introversion.

Both groups were found to prioritize exercise, with matcha drinkers working out more frequently than coffee drinkers. Matcha drinkers also tended to exercise in the morning, while coffee drinkers preferred the afternoon for their workouts.

Astrologically, matcha drinkers were more likely to be fire or water signs, while coffee drinkers were more prone to be earth or air signs. Despite these differences, both groups enjoyed being their own baristas and preparing their morning beverages at home.

Interestingly, matcha drinkers spent more time making their morning drink but reported spending less time overall getting ready for the day compared to coffee drinkers. Both groups spent between $10-20 a week on their preferred beverage.

When it comes to trends, matcha drinkers were more in tune with what’s trending on social media, while coffee drinkers were more likely to stay on top of new and upcoming trends in general. Matcha drinkers were also revealed to be bigger bookworms, reading about six books per year for fun.

Despite their differences, both groups enjoyed spending time with friends and family on the weekends, playing video games, and indulging in “massive” breakfasts. They also shared similar workout preferences, with cardio, weight training, and yoga being their favorite exercises.

Overall, the study provided interesting insights into the habits and preferences of coffee and matcha drinkers. Whether you prefer a cup of coffee or a matcha latte in the morning, it seems that your choice of beverage can reveal more about you than you might think.
