WhatsApp has unveiled a fresh new look for its mobile apps on Android and iOS, aiming to provide users with a more streamlined and visually appealing experience. The Meta-owned messaging platform has introduced a new green color palette that is not only in line with the brand’s theme but also helps reduce eye strain, especially in low-light settings.
In addition to the new color scheme, WhatsApp has made improvements to its dark mode, making it even darker to help users focus on important content on their screens. Android users will now have access to a native bottom navigation bar for quicker navigation, while iOS users will benefit from an enhanced attachment layout for easier sharing of photos and videos.
The design overhaul also includes updated icons with a more rounded and outlined style, as well as a refreshed default background in chats. The updates were initially rolled out to iOS users, with iPhone users receiving the green theming, and are now available to both Android and iPhone users.
With over 35 different colors considered before settling on the new palette, WhatsApp has put a lot of thought into these design changes to enhance the overall user experience.
