In some cities across the United States, Airbnb hosts are making more money in one night than the average weekly wage of a full-time worker. According to a recent study by Wealth of Geeks, Airbnb listings in certain cities are bringing in substantial income for hosts, with some earning over half of their weekly salary in just one night.

The study compared the average weekly salary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to the average cost per night of a short-term Airbnb rental. The top 10 cities where hosts can earn the most money through Airbnb were identified, with Arizona dominating the list, claiming seven out of the top 10 spots.

Scottsdale, Arizona, topped the list with hosts earning 55.9% of the average weekly wage in just one night. Tempe, Arizona, and Charlestown, South Carolina, tied for second place, with hosts making 50% of the weekly wage through Airbnb rentals.

In addition to the lucrative earnings potential for hosts, Airbnb has recently introduced new features for guests, including more experiences and the option to stay at “Icons” houses around the world, such as the house from the movie “Up” and Prince’s “Purple Rain” home. The platform has also rolled out new tools for hosts, like group messaging.

Overall, Airbnb continues to be a popular choice for travelers looking for unique accommodations, while also providing a significant income opportunity for hosts in certain cities across the country.
