Whitefish and Glacier High Schools are among the top three high schools in Montana according to US News rankings.

Whitefish High School and Glacier High School in Montana have once again proven their academic excellence by ranking second and third, respectively, in the U.S. News & World Report 2024 Best High Schools list. These schools have consistently been in the state’s top 10, showcasing their commitment to providing quality education to their students.

Out of 171 public high schools evaluated in Montana, only 38 were eligible to be ranked this year, a decrease from the previous year. Other notable schools in the area also made the list, with Flathead High School at No. 17, Libby High School at No. 18, Polson High School at No. 21, and Columbia Falls High School at No. 27. Bigfork High School was listed in the range of 31-38, indicating its placement in the bottom 25% of the nationwide rankings.

Nationally, these Montana schools also made their mark, with Whitefish at No. 1,567, Glacier at No. 1,920, and Flathead at No. 5,748. Bozeman claimed the top spot in Montana and ranked 213 nationally.

The rankings highlight schools with strong college readiness programs and high graduation rates, as well as exceptional student performance on state assessments. These factors are crucial in preparing students for success in higher education and beyond.
