Who Deserves to be Delaware’s Student of the Week?

Polytech High School’s softball team secured a thrilling victory over Smyrna High School, with a standout performance from one of their players. The game saw Polytech fall behind early, only to rally and score six runs in the fourth inning, ultimately clinching an 8-3 win over Smyrna.

The key player in this victory was a homerun hitter from Polytech, whose impressive performance on the field helped secure the win for her team. The game was a testament to the team’s resilience and determination, as they fought back from an early deficit to emerge victorious.

In addition to their success on the field, Polytech High School is also celebrating the achievements of their students off the field. The school, along with others in Delaware, is honoring exceptional students through the “Delaware Student of the Week” award. This award recognizes students who excel academically, participate in extracurricular activities, volunteer in their communities, and demonstrate perseverance and leadership.

Among the nominees for the award are Hayden Avery from Woodbridge High, Brynn Moor from William Penn High, Malti John from Brandywine High, and Maiss Hussein from Hodgson Vo-Technical High. These students have shown exceptional talent and dedication in their respective fields, from sports to STEM competitions to poetry.
