Alpena High School Girls Soccer Team Dominates in 6-0 Victory

The Alpena High School girls soccer team kicked off their first home game of the season with a bang, securing a resounding 6-0 victory over Elkton Pigeon Bay Port Laker. The Wildcats, who had previously tied Saginaw Heritage, showed their strength and determination on the field as they controlled possession and created numerous scoring opportunities.

Coach Gregg Supiran praised his team’s performance, highlighting their excellent passing and strong backline. Standout players Reese Wisniewski, Faith Dragiewicz, and Anna Skiba all found the back of the net, showcasing the team’s depth and talent.

The game got off to a quick start, with Dragiewicz scoring the first goal within five minutes of play. Skiba followed up with a goal of her own, extending Alpena’s lead. Despite Elkton Pigeon Bay’s efforts to tighten their defense, Alpena continued to dominate the game.

In the second half, Wisniewski shone with a hat trick, scoring three goals to seal the victory for Alpena. The team’s cohesive play and relentless attacking proved too much for their opponents to handle.

Looking ahead, Coach Supiran emphasized the need for continued improvement and high effort in future games. The Wildcats will face off against Grayling next, aiming to build on their early-season success and maintain their winning streak.

Overall, Alpena’s impressive performance on the field showcased their potential for a successful season ahead. Fans can look forward to more exciting matches as the team continues to showcase their skills and teamwork.
