Florence High School senior William Kelley has had a remarkable senior year, leaving a lasting mark on his school with his outstanding athletic achievements. Kelley’s journey began in the fall when he scored three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the WIAA 8 player football state championship game, leading the Bobcats to their first-ever gridiron championship.

In the winter, Kelley transitioned to basketball where he broke the 1,000-point mark in his career and set a new school scoring record with 1,522 points. His impressive performance on the court earned him accolades such as the Northern Lakes Conference offensive player of the year.

Now, in the spring, Kelley is showcasing his versatility as a vital member of both the baseball and track teams. Despite his busy schedule, Kelley remains focused and determined to finish his senior year strong.

Kelley’s success can be attributed to his competitive nature and drive to win, instilled in him from a young age by his athletic family. His dedication to his sports and his team has paid off, culminating in a historic football championship and record-breaking basketball career.

As Kelley looks ahead to college at Bay College for basketball, he reflects on his high school journey with pride and gratitude. His advice to young athletes is simple yet powerful: work hard, appreciate the little things, and be kind to others.
