Reading Time: < 1 minute

Wipro Ltd’s engineering research and development (ER&D) division is set to experience significant growth of up to 30% in the ongoing financial year, FY25. This growth projection comes at a crucial time for the company, which has been trailing behind its competitors in terms of overall growth.

The Wipro Engineering Edge, the company’s ER&D unit and India’s fourth-largest IT company, is expected to secure nearly $300 million in additional business in FY25. This unit played a pivotal role in contributing approximately $1 billion, accounting for 10% of Wipro’s total revenue of $10.8 billion in FY24, with a growth rate of around 9%.

The growth in the ER&D division is anticipated to be primarily driven by sectors such as hardware, semiconductors, Industry 4.0, wireless networks, and cabling. The Americas region has been a significant contributor to the division’s growth in the past year, with revenues nearing the $1 billion mark.

Wipro’s strategic restructuring into four global business lines, including Wipro Engineering Edge, has positioned the company to capitalize on the growing demand for ER&D services. With a focus on innovation and digital transformation across various industries, Wipro is aligning its offerings to meet the evolving needs of the market.

As the Indian IT industry continues to prioritize ER&D services, companies like Wipro are leveraging this opportunity to drive growth and stay competitive in the global market. With a strong emphasis on technology and engineering advancements, Wipro is poised to further strengthen its position in the ER&D space and drive innovation across key sectors.
