WJHL reports ETSU Tennis teams secure spots in NCAA tournament

The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) men’s and women’s tennis teams have received their placements in the NCAA tournament, and the excitement is palpable among the players and coaches. Both teams, who have had a successful season and clinched Southern Conference championships, gathered at the D.P. Culp Student Center for the much-anticipated announcement.

Ricky Rojas, the director of ETSU Tennis and coach for both teams, expressed his pride in the teams for their hard work and achievements. The women’s team will face Duke, while the men’s team will take on the University of Tennessee, with both games scheduled to be held in Knoxville.

Redshirt senior Dimitri Badra mentioned that they have been preparing diligently since winning the conference and will continue to do so. Redshirt senior Fernanda Carvajal echoed the sentiment, emphasizing her excitement to play with her teammates in the tournament.

The men’s team’s first match is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, while the women’s team will play at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
