Middlebury Native Opens New Fitness Hub in Town Plaza

Middlebury native Karrie Sinks has always had a passion for fitness, starting with her varsity sports days in high school and continuing into adulthood. Now, she has taken her love for exercise to the next level by opening her own fitness hub, 802 Pilates Health & Fitness, in The Centre shopping plaza off Court Street in Middlebury.

Sinks, a certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor, was inspired to open her own fitness center after discovering “Inferno Hot Pilates (IHP)” and realizing the impact it had on her own fitness journey. The new studio offers a variety of classes for people of all ages and abilities, including hot yoga, barre, and kids’ dance.

But Sinks is not just focused on physical fitness; she also wants to promote overall well-being for her clients. She is planning to introduce “Silver Sessions,” gentle exercises aimed at enhancing mobility, flexibility, and overall well-being for seniors.

With a team of experienced instructors by her side, Sinks is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment at 802 Pilates. The studio offers monthly membership rates and drop-in options for those looking to try out a class.

As Sinks looks to the future, she plans to expand the services offered at 802 Pilates to include acupuncture, nutritionist presentations, and meditation. But at the core of her business is the simple goal of making people feel good through exercise and community building.
