The Western Michigan women’s tennis team is gearing up for an exciting finish to their regular season as they aim to clinch the top spot in the Mid-American Conference West Division. With two crucial matches ahead, the Broncos are focused on maintaining their strong position in the standings.

Last week, Western Michigan secured a spot in the MAC Tournament for the first time since 2019 after impressive victories over Eastern Michigan and Ball State. With a record of 6-2, the Broncos currently lead the MAC West standings, ahead of both Eastern Michigan and Ball State.

A share of the MAC Regular Season Championship is also within reach for Western Michigan. Senior player Karin Hamilton has been a standout performer with a perfect 6-0 record in MAC singles play. Junior Polina Khotko and senior Lindsey Zieglar have also been near perfect with 7-1 records each.

Before their match against Miami on Sunday, the Broncos will take a moment to honor their senior class, including Karin Hamilton, Valeriya Monko, Maya Perkucin, and Lindsey Zieglar. The team is looking forward to the upcoming MAC Tournament in Toledo and will be eagerly awaiting their seeding after Sunday’s matches.
