The University of Hawai’i women’s tennis team is gearing up for their final regular-season match against CSUN at the Matador Tennis Complex in Northridge, Calif. With a record of 9-10 overall and 6-2 in the Big West, the Rainbow Wahine are looking to secure a strong finish before heading into the Big West Championship tournament.

Currently sitting in third place behind UC Santa Barbara and CSUN, Hawai’i still has a chance to capture the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament. Last year, the Rainbow Wahine defeated the Matadors with a 5-2 win in Honolulu, and they hold a 28-9 all-time record against CSUN.

Known for their clutch performances, Hawai’i has won seven of their nine matches this season by a narrow 4-3 margin. Freshman Nelly Knezkova and junior Nikola Homolkova lead the team in singles with 11 wins each, while junior Ana Vilcek has also been a key player with a 9-7 overall record.

Despite struggling in doubles play this season, the Rainbow Wahine are determined to finish strong and make a statement in their final match. With the No. 1 seed still up for grabs, Hawai’i will need to bring their A-game against CSUN to secure a favorable position in the Big West Championship.
