World Leaders Offer Condolences to UAE President on the Passing of Sheikh Tahnoon

President Sheikh Mohamed received condolences from dignitaries and leaders from around the world following the passing of Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region. The somber event brought together leaders from various countries to pay their respects and honor the legacy of Sheikh Tahnoon.

King Hamad of Bahrain and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the representative of Sheikh Tamim, Emir of Qatar, visited Qasr Al Mushrif in Abu Dhabi to offer their condolences. They were joined by Jassim Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Luigi Di Maio, the EU’s special representative for the Gulf region, and Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Sheikh Tahnoon’s brothers stood alongside President Sheikh Mohamed as they accepted condolences from the visitors. Also present was Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. In addition to the personal visits, President Sheikh Mohamed received phone calls from King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, all expressing their condolences and sympathy for the loss of Sheikh Tahnoon. The outpouring of support from leaders across the globe highlighted the impact that Sheikh Tahnoon had on the international community.

Messages of support and condolences were also sent by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Sultan Haitham of Oman, Sheikh Tamim, the Emir of Qatar, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal, and Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad. The unity and solidarity shown by these leaders in a time of grief underscored the importance of Sheikh Tahnoon’s contributions to the region.

Sheikh Tahnoon was not only a respected leader but also a close adviser to UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. As an uncle of President Sheikh Mohamed, Sheikh Tahnoon played a significant role in shaping the nation and upholding the values of the UAE. We pray that God bestows His mercy on Sheikh Tahnoon and blesses us with patience and solace at this time.”
