For example, in Louisiana, you must be at least 35 years old to run for governor, while states like California, Ohio, Rhode Island, Washington State, and Wisconsin allow 18-year-olds to run for the same position. Arkansas and Texas also have higher age requirements for their gubernatorial candidates, setting the minimum age at 30.
