The Lisbon baseball team showcased their young talent in a dominant 12-2 victory over Wellsville on Monday. The Blue Devils, led by freshman Bryce Esarey on the mound, improved to 3-4 on the season.

Coach Doug Andric praised his team’s performance, noting their improvement at the plate with 13 hits in the game. Despite starting four freshmen, three sophomores, and only two seniors, the Blue Devils displayed resilience and teamwork on the field.

Esarey had a standout game, allowing just one earned run on five hits while striking out 13 batters. He also contributed offensively with one hit, one RBI, and two runs scored. Sophomore Aiden Myers led the team at the plate with four hits, including a crucial RBI single in the first inning.

Wellsville tried to keep pace with Lisbon, but their young roster struggled to match the Blue Devils’ hitting power. Coach Charles Heffner acknowledged the learning curve for his team, which includes several young players gaining valuable experience.

Overall, Lisbon’s strong performance highlighted their potential for the season ahead. With key contributions from underclassmen like Esarey, Myers, and Devin Kelly, the Blue Devils look poised for success as they continue to grow and develop as a team.
