Young woman continues family’s farming legacy with MP Cattle Company | Local News, Sports, Employment

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Madison Pawlick, a senior at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg, has a clear vision for her future after graduation – running her own business, MP Cattle Company. What started with just one cow almost seven years ago has now grown to 25 head of beef cattle, all raised with love and care on her family farm in Benton.

Growing up in a farming family, Madison’s passion for raising cows was a natural fit. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she took on four bottle baby calves as a quarantine project, solidifying her commitment to the business. With the support of her family, including her 94-year-old grandfather who still farms, Madison has found success in the industry.

What sets MP Cattle Company apart is the level of care given to the animals. Madison ensures that all her cows are grass-fed and receive top-notch care throughout their lives. This dedication to quality has led to rave reviews from customers in the Benton area, with the meat consistently selling out.

As a finance major, Madison plans to use her education to further develop her business, with a goal of expanding into a completely registered Angus herd within the next five to ten years. Despite the traditionally male-dominated nature of the industry, Madison encourages others, especially women, to pursue their passion for farming and offers advice on getting started.

With her family’s support and her own determination, Madison is well on her way to achieving her dream of running a successful cattle company. For those interested in learning more about MP Cattle Company, they can find contact information on their Facebook page.
