Zach Eflin and Isaac Paredes propel Rays to 5-2 victory against Rangers

The Tampa Bay Rays bounced back from a tough couple of games with a 5-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night. Pitcher Zach Eflin led the way, taking a shutout into the seventh inning before being replaced after giving up a run. Manager Kevin Cash praised Eflin for setting the tone for the rotation and providing the much-needed start the team was looking for.

The Rays had been outscored 18-5 in their previous two games, but they turned things around with a strong offensive performance. Isaac Paredes hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning, part of a four-run rally that helped secure the win for Tampa Bay.

Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena also contributed to the offense, with Díaz driving in a run with a single and Arozarena adding a run-scoring hit of his own. The Rangers made a crucial error in the fifth inning, allowing the Rays to capitalize and extend their lead.

Despite the loss, Rangers manager Bruce Bochy praised pitcher Andrew Heaney for his performance, noting that he had good stuff and command on the mound. The Rangers will look to bounce back in the next game, with Nathan Eovaldi set to take the mound against Aaron Civale of the Rays.

In injury news, the Rangers will be without third baseman Josh Jung for around six weeks due to a broken wrist, while the Rays are monitoring the status of pitcher Shane Baz and infield prospect Junior Caminero for potential injuries.
