Zaira Wasim’s Father Passes Away: ‘Dangal’ Actor Mourns Loss

Former actor Zaira Wasim, known for her roles in “Dangal” and “Secret Superstar”, is mourning the loss of her father, Zahid Wasim, who passed away on Tuesday. The 23-year-old actress took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news with her followers, expressing her grief and asking for prayers for her father’s soul.

Zaira did not disclose the cause of her father’s death but shared that the funeral prayers were held at a mosque in Srinagar. In her emotional post, she wrote, “Verily the eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, but we will not say except that which is pleasing to our Lord. My father, Zahid Wasim, has passed away.”

The talented actress shot to fame with her debut in the blockbuster film “Dangal” in 2016, where she portrayed the younger version of wrestler Geeta Phogat. She went on to win the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.
