The US House of Representatives recently approved a $95.3 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and other American allies, with around $9.5 billion of the package in the form of a forgivable loan. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed their gratitude to US lawmakers for passing the aid package.

Zelenskyy thanked the House of Representatives for their decision, stating that the aid bill will help prevent the war from expanding, save lives, and strengthen both nations. He emphasized the importance of democracy and freedom, noting that America’s support is crucial in protecting these values.

Netanyahu also expressed his appreciation for the aid bill, highlighting the strong bipartisan support for Israel and Western civilization. The aid package includes roughly $17 billion in direct military assistance for Israel and over $9 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza and other war-torn regions.

The passage of the aid package bill was met with celebration from many Democrats, who waved Ukraine flags and shouted “Ukraine” on the House floor. However, House Speaker Mike Johnson warned that waving flags on the floor is a violation of House rules.

Overall, the approval of the aid package demonstrates the US government’s commitment to supporting its allies and promoting stability in regions affected by conflict. The bill will now move to the Senate for further consideration before reaching President Biden’s desk for final approval.
