Zendaya shines in Luca Guadagnino’s new film “Challengers,” where she portrays the unapologetic tennis player turned coach, Tashi Duncan. The Los Angeles premiere of the movie showcased Zendaya’s talent and dedication to her character, urging audiences not to judge the characters too harshly.

In “Challengers,” Duncan, played by Zendaya, navigates the complexities of coaching her husband, a tennis champion facing a losing streak, against his ex-best friend. The film delves into the unpredictable bond between the three main characters and their shared passion for professional tennis.

Zendaya and her co-stars, including Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, spent 12 weeks building chemistry and understanding the psychology of tennis players. The actress even received praise from former tennis star Serena Williams for her dedication to learning more about the sport while filming.

“I want to try to make it feel like it’s still an extension of the creative process of the making of it (the film) too,” Zendaya said, referring to sporting outfits inspired by the movie at premieres.

As the Amazon MGM Studios film hits theaters on Friday, audiences can expect a compelling story of love, competition, and the challenges of professional sports. Zendaya’s portrayal of Tashi Duncan showcases her range as an actress and her commitment to bringing complex characters to life on screen.
